Dr. Laura Lyn Jacimore

As the medical director of radiation oncology at the Danny Talbott Cancer Center at Nash UNC Health Care in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Laura Lyn Jacimore, MD, draws on more than 20 years of leadership experience in her field. She completed her postgraduate training as the chief resident of radiation oncology at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, which invited her to its clinical faculty in early 1996. Dr. Laura Lyn Jacimore then relocated to Louisiana, where she became the medical director and a radiation oncologist at the Opelousas Community Cancer Center.

Dr. Jacimore served the cancer patients of Opelousas for more than seven years, during which time she advanced her experience with three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy, low and high dose-rate brachytherapy, and stereotactic radiosurgery. She went on to become the director of radiation oncology for Savoy Cancer Center, where she continued to develop her experience in three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy.

In 2004, Dr. Laura Lyn Jacimore moved to North Carolina and joined the staff at the Nash Cancer Treatment Center. She served as a clinical assistant professor in the Radiation Oncology Department of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Nash General Hospital for three years before turning her focus full time to the cancer treatment center. She continues to oversee the delivery of various types of treatment, including three-dimensional conformal radiation and intensity-modulated radiation therapy.
